We’ve replaced all the lighting in all of the laundry rooms, utility rooms and light posts throughout the property with highly efficient and long lasting LED light bulbs. Our goal with this lighting change is for 1) longer life per bulb (expect life span of each bulb is 18 years), and 2) brighter light at less wattage (to save money on our electric bill).
We investigated putting a motion sensor in each laundry room to help reduce energy costs when the lights accidentally got left on but it was far less expensive to replace the light bulbs with LED’s. We still ask that everyone remember to turn off the lights when they leave, but in case they forget the electricity bill will hopefully not be affected.
If you are interested in updating the lighting in your own home, we used TCP brand Soft White light bulbs that you can get on Amazon.com.
